About Us

The Melbourne University Taichi and Wushu club [MUTW] was founded as a group for fitness, fun and self-development through traditional Chinese martial arts, and is proud to be a member of Wushu Taichi Practitioners Association Inc [WTPA]. Our training programme allows individuals to learn at their own pace and covers internal/external forms such as International Style bare hand and weapons forms, as well as the soft but powerful Ziranmen or Taiji Quan forms.

Our club's chief instructor is Professor Sun Han Xiang, 7th Dan Wushu Master, who oversees the club's training programme with a mixture of historical instruction, practical demonstration and supportive encouragement. An elected executive committee is in charge of the club, organising training as well as regular social events. MUTW invites you to share this experience: improve your flexibility, fitness (no matter what your starting level), and most importantly, have fun and make friends.
